The world is a stage, says the music industry

As the number of music albums selling decreases worldwide, the world’s top musicians are increasingly touring to rake in the big bucks. With an increase in piracy and no apparent measure seen to control this menace, many artists and music bands are discovering that touring is the only solution to continue making money.

Touring also allows the performers to connect and in some cases, re-connect with their fans. Live tours are no longer seen as a laborious publicity exercise consisting of sweaty venues and hotel rooms to push record sales. More and more music performers are looking to perform live as a method of generating more income.

In 2008, Madonna had the most successful tour generating revenue of £193 million, followed by Celine Dion with revenue of £162 million.

The music industry still remains shell-shocked with music sales dwindling because of piracy. Often a music album that is purchased by an individual is then made into several copies that are freely distributed or sold for a lesser price. The quality of such copies is inferior and the volume does not match the original CD.

Most CD duplication and replication companies offer the service of making numerous CD copies using only the legal and ethically correct method.
