Using Our PDF Templates
Download the required pdf template from Template Downloads by right clicking and saving to your computer.
Start your preferred design application and from within your application open the pdf template.
If prompted by your application be sure that you open at 300 pixels per inch in the correct colour mode, never work in RGB colour mode.
Lock the template and keep it visible as a background layer.
Overlay your design and text layers checking that all text falls within the permitted areas.
For paper parts designs ensure you provide a 3mm bleed where indicated on the template.
On body designs do not require bleed.
Convert all text to outlines/paths where possible.
For on body designs hide any template layers before saving.
For paper parts designs leave template layers visible as the background before saving.
Ensure no template grid markings are visible through your artwork.
Save or output your design as PDF at “high quality print” setting
Provide a printed content proof if possible.
Artwork Design Amendments
If we receive designs that are not to correct specification we may be able to correct the designs. Amendments are charged as follows:
General design amendments: £25 per hour
Convert artwork from RGB to CMYK colour: £5 per file/sheet
Re-size design if possible: £5 per template page
Add artwork to correct template: £5 per design file
Generate and add barcode to a design: £15
3mm Bleed!
For all paper parts artwork please ensure that you include a 3mm bleed as clearly indicated by the red dotted line on the template. Your designs should be the exact size as indicated on the template plus an extra 3mm bleed on all trimmed edges. If there is no 3mm bleed on your artwork we cannot proceed with your order! Re-submission of your artwork will inevitably lead to delays and possible extra charges.
Proofs
Once we have received suitable artwork we will process your order and produce a set of proofs.
All artwork must be approved before we can proceed to production.
You can chose to receive email PDF proofs or hard copy printed proofs.
Email PDF Proofs are the fastest way to approve your artwork but approval is given on the understanding that there may be slight colour variance between how your artwork is displayed on a RGB computer monitor and the final CMYK printed matter.
Hard Copy Laser Printed Content Proofs are available at no extra cost but will delay start of production by around 4 days due to post. All laser proofs must be signed and returned by post.
100% Colour Acurate Sherpa Proofs are available at £30 per A4 sheet. These proofs can be useful for hyper critical colour artwork proofing. Sherpa proofs can be obtained from our printers and turnaround of proofing is usually around 6-7 working days.
