Piracy is killing the PC gaming market

The creative director of Ubisoft Shanghai, Michael de Plater, strongly believes that piracy is killing the PC gaming market. The gaming studio has intentionally not released Tom Clancy’s EndWar PC version alongside the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. This has been done in order to encourage gamers to purchase the console versions instead of pirating a PC version.

The level of piracy in the PC gaming market has now grown so huge that it is afflicting other gaming versions. Many people are now simply stealing through copying, rather than actually purchasing a game. This level of piracy is adversely affecting the entire industry, which will ultimately impair the development of new titles.

Most CD duplication and replication companies adopt and follow strict legal guidelines when offering their service that does not encourage any sort of piracy. Your order is only progressed further when you show them the proper licenses and copyrights to the music album or gaming CD. This helps to keep unlicensed copying and the piracy of data under control.
