DVD Replication And Packaging

DVD replication and packaging is a service offered by Testa-Rossa to fulfill customers requirements for DVD video manufacture. Our replication process involves taking a DDP fileset of the supplied physical master and then from this set of files a glass master is carefully created.

Once a glass master has been successfully created it is then used to manufacture metal stampers. Subsequently the final metal stamper is used on the production line to press the DVD discs. This method of pressing discs is why the factory is usually referred to as a pressing plant.

As the discs are created on the DVD replication lines they can then be automatically packed into the standard Amaray case style DVD packaging. Usually prior to the pressing stage, artwork for a DVD inlay will have been provided to the plants printers and litho printed inlays will have been produced and finished ready to add to the cases on the production line.

It is common that the automated packing of DVD disc and printed inlays into the case all happens on the same auto pack production line within the plant. Most production lines also have the capability to add booklets to the cases or even additional stickers such as the hologram stickers often seen on DVD releases. Finally the cellophane overwrap is applied over the DVD case before the final product is boxed for despatch.
