Testa-Rossa Recording Studios
Testa-Rossa Recording Studios are now used mainly for our own mastering service PMCD Mastering This mastering service is aimed at our CD duplication and CD replication clients. The studio is still also used for our own record label productions and other label's production work. Since re-locating the studios in summer 2004 we no longer accept commercial studio bookings although we will undertake mastering, dance music production and remix work.
The current studio set up is based around an extensive top of the range Digidesign Pro Tools Accel HD3 TDM system running on a Mac G5. The Pro Tools rig includes all the top range plug ins, softsynths and compatible applications. The Digital Pro Tools rig is also complemented by a host of traditional outboard gear such as keyboards, synths, samplers, finalizer, reverbs, valve compression, Focusrite pre-amps, Neumann mics etc.
CD mastering is taken care of with the Pro Tools set up and also software such as Bias Peak Pro and Roxio Jam. We have an extensive range of high end mastering plug ins from the likes of Waves, Focusrite, TC, Massenburg etc.

Testa-Rossa Studios History
Testa-Rossa Studios was originally established back in 1993. In 1997 Testa-Rossa moved to its Longsight, Manchester premises after buying out the previous Moonraker Studios. The studios underwent a substantial refurbishment programme and investments in the latest recording equipment were made. The studios featured a large acoustically designed control room and live rooms with isolated drum room. Between 1997 and 2004 Testa-Rossa was Manchester's leading facility for bands, DJs and dance music. The studios were used by many of Manchester's top artists and labels whilst also providing a facility for up and coming new acts. Many hit records were recorded at Testa-Rossa including the number one hit "Take Me To The Clouds Above" by LMC v U2 and the famous (or infamous) eurovision entry "Cry Baby" by Jemini. Other regular clients were 808 State, Factory Records, All Around The World Records, The Fall and Cleopatra. During the Manchester commonwealth games a section of the closing ceromony music was recorded at Testa-Rossa by Dave Stewart and Jimmy Cliff.
In 2004 it was decided to sell off the Longsight premises and streamline the business due to a decline in commercial bookings and the growth of our CD duplication and CD replication business. Most of the equipment was retained including the Pro Tools HD Accel system, monitoring system and the high end outboard processors. The studio is now privately based and used mainly for our CD audio mastering and our PMCDmastering.co.uk business.
